E. L. Canion was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. From a young age, they created art to express themself which was fostered by their parents. In elementary school, they had a large interest in Project Runway and got into designing clothing, which led to having a showcase all about their art relating to their interest in fashion design. Over a short period of time, they began to create their own original characters based on their favorite T.V. series that continued through high school. These early signs helped Canion determine that the Visual Development major fit them perfectly.Canion is a current undergraduate Visual Development student at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, expecting to graduate in Spring of 2027. They are now focused on staying on top of coursework and building a portfolio to apply for internships in the near future. They have strong skills in Adobe Photoshop to create interesting compositions and designs and have a background in traditional painting with acrylics.Canion hopes they can work for studios like DreamWorks Animation or Sony Pictures and become successful visual development artist in the film industry. For now, they continue to hone their skills, creating unique landscapes and visually pleasing character designs.
